We may have water...

Had an email from Heidi this morning. She received the keys we sent her and has an appointment with EDF on Thursday to get the meters read so they can reconnect the electricity in time for our arrival on the Sunday. Hopefully the water will also be connected otherwise the arrival of the dishwasher and washing machine on Wednesday may be a superfluous luxury.

MOH is (as I speak) sorting out the bikes which his brother will be bring with him on the back of his pick up... I just have to persuade the kids to cycle to collect the croissants now ;)

And my little bro and famille may be joining us for the earlier part of our stay. So hope to goodness water is connected - the thought of eight of us sharing a chemical camping toilet doesn't bear thinking about!

Had a lovely email from the neighbours in the village this weekend. I've made lots of marmalade (with whiskey) to take with us - not, of course, that I would stoop to bribery....

We are still trying to get quotes for all the building work that needs doing - in particular the roof guttering. We keep getting vague responses from the builder with a very creative list of reasons as to why the devis hasn't arrived this time - but I am not going to panic - yet. I have, however, been waking up at night, part way through imaginary conversations in French struggling for a word that has escaped me. I have clearly lost the plot and am in need of a therapeutic holiday painting shutters...
